Sourcegraph provides universal code search for developers and companies so that they can innovate faster and manage billions of lines of code. We developed a surreal illustration style to help them stand out in the tech sector and better visualize their offerings.

We pushed Sourcegraph to embrace an ownable illustration style that conveys complexity through detail and humanity through its hand-drawn elements. We leaned into building collages comprised of people interacting with technology.

The vibrant color palette over (typically) black backgrounds grounded these elements together as a cohesive system. And the unique style allowed us to explore perspective in a way that flat illustrations typically don’t.
